Meet the Morning Show Interns:

"You're really tall..." - Greg T
Thursday 11-19-2009 8:34am ET

What’s going on people! I cannot believe it has been so long since I have posted anything. For that, fans of Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, I apologize! My attitude about being here still has not changed one bit. It is still extremely awesome to be here! There have been tons of experiences over the last month, everything from broadening my interest and skill in the professional radio world to meeting all of the guests that have come through the studios!

Working on Top of the Charts has been my favorite thing of the semester so far. I love all genres of music, including country, (yes country!) so being able to get a feel what everyone is listening to in the US and across the world is pretty cool. Working on Top of the Charts has also given me an appreciation for music across the globe as well. I was really digging last weeks number 1 French song, “J’aimerais tellement” by Jena Lee, in fact the video is what really makes the song, check it out! Besides Top of the Charts, I am doing other radio tasks such as air checks, which enable me to work on the equipment in the studio, which totally makes my day. Working with this equipment is an opportunity that I want to take full advantage of.

(Currently the show is playing “Whatever You Like” by T.I. so if I randomly start breaking out into lyrics I am completely sorry it is one of my favorite songs of all time). Being in the studio just makes me crack up sometimes, especially talking to Skeery after he performs a Phone Tap! He is always happy and loves talking about the Phone Taps and I love hearing about them! I’m laughing right now thinking about, *my chick can have what she wants...* (ugh! Sorry it’s a good song!), Skeery’s Phone Tap as the boy band salesman!

The guests of the show have been numerous since I have been here but the best has to be when Michael Buble and Guy Fieri came into the studio. Guy was awesome and he was just like he is on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”. My mother is a huge fan of Michael Buble and she wrote him a letter that really meant a lot to her and Michael was nice enough to read it and hang on to the letter. He is such a nice and down to earth person that was truly great to meet.

I promise I will keep all of you updated in the upcoming blogs!

Until next time,

James

Let me tell you about my new favorite person ... So if you were listening to the show two weeks ago Guy Fieri from the Food Network show, "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" was here in the studio.  I was so excited when we got the call that he was in the lobby, it was my job to go down and get him!  Our elevators were acting a bit weird that day so I warned him, and he proceeded to tell me a crazy story about how his friends once got stuck in an elevator right after he got out! If you have ever seen his show you know that he is very loud and animated when he speaks so it was funny seeing the reactions of the other people in the elevator trying to go about their business!  He was so cool, really he is the coolest person I have ever met.  He was so much fun and he loved being on the show, I wish he could be here every day.  He also brought us food.  He had a chef come in at 6 AM and start cooking!  About 8:30 AM we had the delicious goodies that he brought - one dish being macaroni and cheese with crushed up goldfish crackers - It was soooo good!!  I got to take a picture with him and he squeezed me so hard, you can see our picture on Elvisduran.com  I even got to tell him about a TV spin off of his show I created for a class!!

The same morning Guy came in was also the morning Michael Buble was here!  I also had to go get him from the lobby and I was expecting this nice, clean shaven, suave guy.  But no, he was wearing a studded leather jacket and looked like such a hard ass.  I was actually intimidated by him!  And when he introduced himself as "Mike" it threw me off! He was a really nice guy but I was just so confused because he was totally not what I was expecting.

On Monday Caroline and I were preparing your favorite segment, Top of the Charts, and we noticed a bunch of people forming outside of the studio.  We looked at each other and I said, "Who's coming in?" With that American Idol Winner, Kris Allen walked by!  At the same time we both said, "Kris Allen" and waved, then continued with out work.  It just seems so normal now that anyone can show up at anytime.  (However if it were Robert Pattinson I would have stormed through the door and tackled him!)  Caroline and I both took a picture with him so that was exciting!

Today I came in with a story for Brody.  My friend was dating a guy for a few months, she drove him to the airport because he was going to visit his daughter in Miami, two days later she went on Facebook and saw pictures of him at a wedding, HIS WEDDING!  Needless to say their relationship ended, even after he tried telling her that it was his twin brother! I cold not believe how many callers had related stories!  I can't believe that people actually get away with this for as long as they do!  See al of the lessons you learn when you listen to Elvis Duran and the Morning Show?
And as the great band Wild Orchid once said on the awesome show "Great Pretenders"...(please tell me someone remembers this show!)

"Adios, Sayonara, Buh-Bye!"

LIVING THE DREAM

Hey Hey Hey!!!!!

I apologize for not introducing myself earlier in the semester but I am Danielle the fourth intern working here every Thursday and Friday morning for Elvis and the Morning Show. I have been listening to The Morning Show since I was 6 years old and since I started back in August it has been nothing but a dream come true. Each week is filled with fun exciting things just as I expected. I guess what I’m trying to say is that waking up at 3:30A.M is completely worth it!

Everyone up here is awesome! They are like a giant family that always seems to bring the best topics to the dinner table. Whether it is what ridiculous bit Greg T is doing to the crazy topics that always seem to get Carolina and Danielle heated. Either way they always seem to make me laugh out loud every single time.

I have been learning so much here! From answering phones to using pro-tools for air checks each day has been a new experience. Especially today when the phone lines gave out in the middle of our biggest contest so far! Boy was that a nail biting experience but Loren was able to pull us through it. J. Unfortunately, no one was able to open up the Vault for the Free Money Phone Tap and now the contest is officially over. But I did get to see the real combination open up the safe live on the air, which was 592 for all of you who are wondering.

This experience overall has been a great one so far and it is not even complete yet! No worries I will keep all of you posted on what other shenanigans go on up here in next weeks entry!

-Danielle!
